1. Art Stuff
With so much time at home children have plenty of time to get creative.
There are some great online art tutorials they can follow along too…I’ve listed them in this massive list of free home education resources.
2. Paddling Pool
We won’t be visiting the beach anytime soon so a paddling pool will be a welcome addition to any garden.
There is such a variety of pools available so you’ll definitely find one that suits your budget.
3. Basketball Hoop
Fix to a fence or wall and have endless fun practicing your ball skills.
We had one of these as kids and I’ve been waiting for the boys to be old enough to enjoy one too. This lockdown may well be the right time!
4. Kindle Fire
Screen-time is something that often divides parent opinion. We take a pretty relaxed approach to electronic devices and as home schoolers find our boys Amazon Fires great for learning and fun.
5. Sticker book
If the child you’re buying for has every plastic toy going then a sticker book might be something they’ll enjoy.
If you’re not together on their birthday then you could spend some it together online.Frame
6. Climbing Frame
So, this item isn’t the cheapest self isolation birthday present idea for kids but it’s something that’s given our boys hours and hours of fun.
When we designed our garden we wanted to include good quality items that would last for years and this definitely ticked all the boxes.
While our 3 year old scales the top being Spiderman, our almost 5 year old pretends he’s a monkey swinging through the trees.
Read this to see what other garden play equipment we invested in.
7. Nature Explorer Kit
I love buying nature gifts for kids because I believe it is so important to get kids outdoors and exploring their world from a young age.
8. Teepee
A cotton teepee is a super cute gift idea for a little one that can go inside or outside.
Use indoors with some cushions and a favourite book or take it outside to and enjoy a picnic together.
9. Giant Blocks
These were gifted to my son and they are awesome.
I love toys that are so flexible as imagination is the only limit.
We’ve built a castle and a car. We’ve used them as monster truck ramps and assault courses. They are great!
10. Baking Kit
Spend some time during lockdown perfecting your baking skills.
A cute baking set is bound to get kids enthusiastic in the kitchen. There are loads of sets available in different themes so you can find something for every child.
